Octo Mom Nadya Suleman's Dark Secrets Cover Us Magazine

Last week, Us Weekly jumped on the Rihanna story before any other magazine took the risk.

Most likely it paid off big time, because today we saw three Rihanna covers.  (People, Star and Life & Style)

This week, Janice Min does the opposite of what is expected and follows-up her strong sale with Octo Mom Nadya Suleman!

Good or bad move?

GENIUS!

This is the BEST cover of the week and will be the best seller of the year for Us Weekly.

(The past two weeks there have been distribution problems, which may have lead to unreliable sales numbers.  If all the magazines are distributed to all there outlets, this cover of Us will STILL be the biggest seller of the week.)

Why?

Us Magazine is connecting with the reader in the exact spot the reader is at with Nadya Suleman.

They think she’s CRAZY.

Thus, the headline “Octo Mom’s Dark Secrets” hits it on the nail.

The dek promises new insight into her childhood and her relationship with her mom.  Plus, it dives into her sexless love life and her plastic surgery obsession.

I can’t wait to read the story.

And, that makes a great cover.

Bottom Line: I saved the best cover for last – but it will certainly finish in first on the newsstand!

P.S.  Looks like Nadya figured out a way to make money (selling photos) besides her new web site!
