Watchmen Below Expectations

The much-hyped and anticipated “Watchmen” movie took in about $55.7 million at the box office this weekend.

This is considered somewhat of a disappointment since studio estimates expected the long-awaited pic to make something closer to the $60 million mark, and it was on pace to beat that with Friday totals of $25.1 million, reports MSNBC.

My guess is that terrible word-of-mouth slowed down this movie’s success. I’ve never heard or seen so many bad reviews for a movie in a long time!
