EARTH DAY SPECIAL: What is Green America's Better Paper Project?

Today, CoverAwards is celebrating magazines that are printed on recycled paper and are doing their part to help the environment.

One of the driving forces helping publishers transition to recycled paper is the Green America’s Better Paper Project .

What do they do?

This organization provides assistance and resources to magazines in order to help them become more sustainable and alleviate the pressures placed on forests by printing on recycled paper and using sustainable production processes.

It also rewards magazines by creating unique promotions in retailers and online to build awareness and sales!

“Everyday is earth day for these magazines. In tough economic times, these magazines continue to show leadership by printing on recycled paper. We are thrilled that we able to reward these magazines through unique online and retail promotions, says Máire Walsh, Director of Client Services at Next Steps Marketing which works on behalf of Green America’s Better Paper Project. “Look out for special promotions and support these magazines that print on recycled paper at Barnes and Noble, Hastings Books and Music, Universal News and Amazon.”
