EARTH DAY SPECIAL: Movmnt Magazine Releases Poster Issue!

To celebrate Earth Day, CoverAwards is speaking with editors who are spearheading the effort to produce their magazine’s with recycled paper and support a greener environment.  Up now is David Benaym, editor in chief of Movmnt Magazine. (photo below)

Movmnt Magazine, which targets performers and behind-the-scenes talent, has come up with an innovative way to create a green issue.

The next issue will come out as a POSTER, which features select content from the magazine and it will be hitting newsstands the second week of May 2009.  For those that purchase the poster at their newsstand, they can use the special code on the poster to access the online version, which will feature extended content.

This is an environmentally-friendly approach as Benaym expects readers to keep the poster for a long period of time.  “We hope our readers will hang it in their studios,” adds Benaym.

Movmnt is experimenting with this Poster approach not only because of the environmental benefits, but because of the economic challenges in securing advertisers at this time.  Benaym explains, “Instead of having no magazine available, we decided to be inventive and make sure our readers can still get the content they love from Movmnt.”
