OK! West Coast Shakeup: Magazine Says Farewell to Mary Ann Norbom

There’s been a shakeup in OK! Magazine’s West coast office.

CoverAwards called to confirm the news and a spokesperson told us exclusively:

“Yes, there’s been some restructuring in the West coast office and Mary Ann Norbom is no longer with the company.”

The timing of Mary Ann’s departure is odd.  A simple glance at the masthead showed that Mary Ann had been promoted from L.A. Bureau Chief to executive editor by newly installed EIC Katie Caperton just over a month ago.

That begs the question – what went wrong?

This news comes at the same time that OK! has hired editorial consultant Juliet Gray to “consult” with the publisher, according to Gawker.  One of Gray’s first acts as a consultant was to distribute this memo, which basically asks all the staff members to explain what they do for the magazine.

Needless to say, many staffers are concerned about their futures at the magazine.

Stay tuned as this story is continuing to develop…
