Rep: OK! Confirms Caperton's Done, No New EIC Named Today

OK! Magazine’s rep Brian Strong confirmed to CoverAwards that effective today Katie Caperton is no longer with OK! Magazine.

The report of Katie Caperton’s departure was first reported by Aaron Gell of ASSME.org.

In addition, the Strong says that “no direct replacement is being named as Editor-in-Chief today, but there is an executive editorial team managing OK!’s new initiatives and goals.”

When it comes to new initiatives, the staffers at OK! Magazine have been told to think “Elle Weekly,” which was originally reported by CoverAwards.

Jason Oliver Nixon, who was widely rumored to be taking the top spot, has been named the creative director.  Juliet Gray, who recently caused a stir by distributing this memo, is the new east coast executive editor.

“The aim is to add individuals to the OK! team that strengthen Hollywood access and add a new perspective to the expanded offerings, emphasizing OK!’s enhanced sensibility and style. Here and in editions across the world, Northern & Shell is committed to producing premium magazines, 22 globally, that celebrate exclusive celebrity access and lifestyle content at the root of the OK! brand,” explains Strong.

“Advertising pages are up 18% year-to-date, market share has increased 5% over the same period, and the magazine looks forward to building on this momentum,” concludes Strong.

In addition, four additional team members have been added in L.A. and there are more to be announced in both NY and LA in coming weeks.
