MTV VMA Michael Jackson Tribute, Madonna Speaks (VIDEO)
Madonna opened up the MTV VMA’s with a tribute to Michael Jackson. Apparently, the two had a lot in common. Both Madonna and Michael were born in 1958 in August in the midwest.
“Michael Jackson was a hero,” she said. “He seemed otherwordly.”
Madonna asked Michael Jackson out to dinner in 1991. They held hands during a movie, but it was a friendship — not a romance.
She was floored when she found out about his death in London this past June.
“We allowed this magnificent creature slip threw the cracks — there will never be anyone like him again. He was a king. Long live the king.”
