Uma Thurman On W Magazine: October 2009

Uma Thurman W magazine

We love, love Uma Thurman and were thrilled to see her on the cover of W’s October issue. We also dug the silver, intergalactic, anti-shoulder pad look.

But wait — does she have a project coming out? YES! Yes, she does. The independent film Motherhood, which opens in October.

Uma plays a single a “New York mother of two and blogger as she prepares for her daughter’s birthday party, enters a writing contest, navigates playground politics and clashes with her best friend (played by Minnie Driver).”

The main reason we love Uma, though? She can drop a Bob Dylan quote on the fly and not look pretentious. On her regrets:

“I feel like I lived my life backwards. Like Bob Dylan said, ‘I was so much older then; I’m younger than that now.’ Getting older has been a process of realizing that I wasn’t as grown up as I had thought. When I was a teenager people often referred to me as jaded or knowing. It’s a classic teen illusion to think you know it all, but I’ve certainly learned I don’t. I’ve certainly learned the hard way.’
