Breaking: Anna Wintour Might (Might) Be OK With Size 4 Models
Hell has frozen — pigs fly
The latest issue of Vogue has an eyebrow raising headline about a “curvy” (term is used VERY loosely in fashion) model, Lara Stone, who suffers her way through the industry (racking up cover after cover, mind you) at an elephant-sized 4. Regardless, Stone “struggles” to fit in.
It’s a love letter to the .5% who actually work in the industry (and care) about the long, winding road of having 35-inch hips and the nasty glares such bootyliciousness elicits. Afterall, the typical model has 34-inch hips, remember.
In wake of the story, Anna Wintour told Modelina.com (via PageSix.com):
“I hope that Lara’s success as a model, even though her image does not fit into the existing norms, will inspire the industry to rethink its current preferences.”
