After Jessica Simpon’s ex, John Mayer, humiliated her by revealing intimate and graphic details about their sex life, the star turned to little sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz for support, an insider tells OK! exclusively.

So what did Ashlee tell her big sis?

She tried to lift her spirits by having a sense of humor about the whole thing.

“She told Jess to look on the bright side,” a friend close to the sisters tells OK!. “At least he didn’t say Jess was bad in bed.”

Jess was so embarrassed by John’s tell-all to Playboy magazine — in which he called her “sexual napalm” and likened her to “crack cocaine” saying their sexual relationship was like an addictive drug  — that she even found it hard to go to her family for help.

“Jess was paranoid that [Ashlee's husband] Pete Wentz was overhearing the conversation,” an insider reveals to OK!. “She hates the thought of her family thinking of her sexually at all!”

It’s nice to know that Jess can count on some people, even if her ex-boyfriend would betray her to the national press!
