It’s next to impossible for Charlize Theron to look truly bad — let’s just get that out of the way first and foremost. She’s Charlize Theron for Godsakes, it isn’t in her DNA to drape herself in the kind of miserable mess that say, Helena Bonham Carter, does so effortlessly.

So then why is she getting slammed for this lavender John Galliano dress she chose for last night’s Oscars? Fashion and entertainment critics/bloggers/naysayers have been comparing the frock’s embelleshments to everything from Cinnabuns to Janet Jackson‘s hand-cup breast Rolling Stone cover.

It’s a bit off-kilter, which to be honest isn’t too hard to do at the Academy Awards, but is it really deserving of all this wrath? Sound off below!
