Mark Pasetsky, Editorial Director & Publisher
Mark Pasetsky is the editorial director and publisher for CoverAwards.
Pasetsky also provides independent consulting services. He offers his clients a unique combination of senior-level editorial and communications experience. His areas of expertise include print & digital editorial consulting, public relations counsel and media training.
Prior to launching CoverAwards in 2008, Pasetsky served as the editor in chief of Bauer Publishing’s Life & Style Weekly. Prior to his role as editor in chief, Pasetsky was the magazine’s general manager. Under his direction, the magazine became the fastest growing magazine on the newsstand. The magazine was also name the 2004 Magazine Launch of the Year by magazine guru Samir Husni.
Previously, Pasetsky began his first entrepreneurial venture when he launched communications firm Mark Allen & Company in 2001. Clients included Bauer Publishing’s In Touch Weekly, MTV Networks Logo TV, and Infinity Broadcasting (now CBS Radio). Pasetsky also launched a new program called Executive Branding, which is designed to raise the profile of CEOs and senior-level executives. Pasetsky quickly became a leading expert in the area with articles in Fortune and Portfolio.
Pasetsky held the position of vice president for MTV Networks online division, which included oversight for all corporate and consumer communications’ activities for the company’s web sites including MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon.
Pasetsky became entrenched in the Internet space in the late 90s when he held a variety of senior-level positions at the nation’s leading Internet PR firm, Middleberg & Associates. There he counseled clients, including MTV Networks, TheStreet.com, BMG Music and others.
Pasetsky is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a B.A. in Journalism.
Mara Siegler, Managing Editor
Mara Siegler serves as managing editor for CoverAwards, where she is responsible for breaking news.
Previously, Siegler freelanced for a variety of daily newspapers and celebrity-focused web sites. In addition, she managed her personal indie rock blog Brewed Fresh.
Prior to her journalism career, Siegler worked in public relations, where she worked with a variety of consumer-based brands. She’s also brings experience in large events and promotions, including the world’s largest Beatles’ festival in North America, Abbey Road on the River, the Macy’s Day Parade, and Fashion Week.
