MAGAZINE AD PAGE CRISIS!
Consumer magazine publishers are having a tougher time selling ads in 2008 than they did in 2007. No surprise!

It sounds like the celeb weeklies are actively bidding for Halle’s baby pics but so far no winners.
And it looks like we’ll be seeing pictures of Halle Berry’s post-baby body before we see pictures of the baby. Berry and Gabriel Aubry’s baby, Nahla, was born March 16 and has yet to make an appearance in the pages of any celebrity weekly, reports MSNBC.
One magazine editor said that “photos are being shopped, but nothing’s been settled.”
I’d be shocked if Larry Hackett’s People magazine doesn’t buy these pictures. Their baby covers (as well as their Heath Ledger covers) have been the only thing keeping the magazine close to its 1.5 million rate base couple of months of 2008.
Earlier today Keith Kelly reported that the celebrity weekly category is facing abysmal numbers during the first quarter.
This is not surprising considering how volatile the magazine business is right now.
Look for even crazier magazine cover lines as celebrity weekly editors reach complete desperation in what is a saturated marketplace.
The big question is who will be the first celebrity weekly editor to be shown the door in 2008?

BREAKING NEWS: PENTHOUSE OFFERING SPITZER’S CALL GIRL COVER!
Penthouse Magazine wants to put Ahley Alexandra Dupre, aka “Kristen,” aka “that hooker Elliot Spitzer paid 5k for,” on their cover. They have thus far been unsuccessful in contacting her, but Penthouse Magazine Group president and publisher Diane Silberstein says Dupre sounds like a “very interesting and talented young woman.” And we know if there is one thing Penthouse looks for, its “talent.”
