Daniel Dae Kim March DaMan Magazine Cover

If nothing else, Daniel Dae Kim is happy he’s never played the Chinese food delivery man

Lost star Daniel Dae Kim cuts right to the chase in his interview for this month’s DaMan magazine. Does it suck being an Asian actor? Well, it certainly can:

“I take a little bit of pride in that I don’t feel like I’ve taken any roles that I regret in terms of cultural representation,” he shares. “I’ve never done the stereotypicalAsian nerd or anything like that. But that’s not to say that there isn’t that kind of dynamic in Hollywood. There is definitely a categorization of Asian males, in particular. What I mean to say is though the roles might not be overtly offensive, they are definitely secondary and exist only to serve another character. For instance, a lot of roles that I have played have been in support of the leads and I was there to deliver exposition. They’re not stereotypical roles but they are representative of a ceiling that a lot of us face.”

Angelina Jolie Australian March 2010 Marie Claire

Angelina Jolie looks like a cartoon on the cover of Australia’s March Marie Claire

This cover shot of Angelina Jolie doesn’t even look real. Yes, Ms. Jolie is blessed with otherwordly good looks, pillowy lips and mesmerizing liquid pools for eyes, but c’mon — the shot looks illustrated.

Inside the issue she babbles about the normal Brad, kids, world traveler gypsy stuff:

“When I met him…I didn’t want to get pregnant,” she reveals. “I always wanted to adopt, but I never had the desire of experiencing biological motherhood…He’s taught me to be more patient and to enjoy everything that we have. I want to raise my children correctly and help them to understand the inequality that exists in the world.”
