The John McCain camp has disputed claims that VP hopeful Sarah Palin at one time belonged to the Alaska Independent Party. The Republican camp also accused the Democrats of spreading misinformation.
This mess is only going to get MUCH worse for Sarah Palin and the McCain campaign.
The same team that broke the John Edwards story for the National Enquirer is all over the Sarah Palin’s story.
Yes, we have the “Edwards” team in Alaska (or most of the team, anyway), David Perel, Editor in Chief, National Enquirer, tells CoverAwards.
“While checking the rumor that Bristol had given birth to Sarah’s most recent child we found that wasn’t true but discovered Bristol was pregnant. We then began peppering Levi Johnston, his relatives, and the Palin camp with calls for comments and became aware that Levi’s people told Palin we were on to the story and were going to break it. So they then announced it right under us.

Now officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was “once a member of their party, which since the 1970s has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States,” according to reports.
