REVOLVING DOOR AT ALPHA MEDIA CONTINUES

Douglas Warshaw is out as chief digital officer of Alpha Media just five months into the job according to Mediaweek.

Under Kent Brownridge’s leadership, this seems to be a trend.  Joe Mangione left last month after six months as chief marketing officer.

Matt Kaplan named VP, Digital Sales for Maxim Digital; Gennadiy Borisov named CTO of Maxim Digital; and Eric Alt is Deputy Entertainment Editor for Maxim.com, according to Mediaweek. Maxim.com is beginning to make its site cleaner and easier to navigate. BTW - I know the new cover is of Avril, but I like this one better.

Alpha’s Marketing Chief Mangione Would Rather Go Fishing

AND DECIDES TO GO BACK TO RETIREMENT!

Kent Brownridge is seeking a new chief marketing officer for Alpha Media now that Joe Mangione has decided to return to retirement, according to Mediaweek.

On the job for just six months, Mangione tells Mediaweek, “I just decided I didn’t want to work that hard anymore or see Ken Brownridge every day.”

Or maybe cuz it’s hard to market shitty covers like the one above?

New President at Alpha Media — Keith Kelly of the NY Post reports that Glenn Rosenbloom, formerly of Walt Disney Co.’s magazine group, Buena Vista Publishing, is the new President of Alpha Media.   His first job is to replace outgoing Maxim Publisher Rob Gregory.  (New York Post)

Publishers Get Some Relief from USPS – Folio’s Dylan Stableford details the United States Postal Service’s 2.7 percent increase for periodicals.   This is much less than last year’s 11.7 percent increase.   (Folio)
