“I’m happy to be here. I really am. It has been a crazy two days,” said Favre reports the NY Daily News. “And I hope that I can bring as much excitement throughout the year as we’ve had the last two or three days. So time will tell. And I don’t want to say ‘Be patient.’

Brett Favre is a New York Jet

After weeks of drama, it’s official.

Brett Favre is no longer with the Green Bay Packers nor is he retired.

He has been traded to the New York Jets in an overnight trade giving long-time suffering Jet fans a reason to celebrate.

This also marks the end of QB Chad Pennington’s career with the Jets.  An announcement is expected later today.

Brett Favre will be reinstated and added to the Green Bay Packers’ active roster Monday, the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced Sunday.

Favre could be on the field as early as Tuesday.

BRETT FAVRE FILES FOR REINSTATEMENT

Brett Favre has made his move to get back onto the playing field. He sent his letter of reinstatement to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, stating that he wants to comeback from retirement.

GM for the Packers, Ted Thompson will now have to decide what to do with Favre: trade him, sit him on the bench, or release him, reports ESPN.

The Packers should release him. This will salvage the Packers reputation which they have tarnished by treating their franchise savior like garbage.

Will Brett Favre Play for the New York Jets?

Rumors are swirling tonight that former Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre could be joining the New York Jets.

This would be a big boost for the second team from New York (or NJ).

Earlier Friday, Jets coach Eric Mangini dodged questions about the team’s interest in Favre.

“I’m happy with the quarterbacks we have and we look at a lot of different scenarios every night,” Mangini said. “And trust me when I tell you that we look into a lot of different scenarios every night. It’s just normal operating procedure for us.”
