Dan - Are you feeling pretty good this morning?  Well, you should be.

Life & Style stands out this week with the ONLY Angelina Jolie cover.  The mag jumped on the incredible quote made by Angelina Jolie that she and Brad fell in love while on set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  A very smart move.

The picture of Angelina looking mischievous adds to a very strong cover presentation.

My only criticism is on the dek - which seems to be lacking strong details.  But - in the end it doesn’t matter cause the photo and main line will help L&S return to strong sales on the newsstand.

Let’s take a look at the sidebar which is jam packed with compelling and simple stories.  Each one gets right to the point.

Looks like Life & Style opted to invest in a fifth color this week and is using a super-hot pink, which no doubt will stand out on the newsstand. (There are better ways to spend money - btw.)

In fact, I was temporarily blinded by the cover this morning.

Smart move by the magazine to make Britney Spears a big part of the story (US, Star, and OK should have done the same). She should have been in the middle - since she is the biggest star on the cover.

The other two stars - huh?

Jessica Alba looks totally miserable. Why? Why? Why would they include her in this package.

And Brooke Hogan? Someone at LIfe & Style is crushing on Brooke Hogan. There is no reason why this D-lister has now made the cover of Life & Style AGAIN.

So why won’t this cover work?

The line “With her [Brooke Hogan's] own VH1 reality show premiering on July 13″ kicks off this week’s Life & Style cover story.

Well timing is everything, and Brooke Hogan found one sucker venue to promote her show.

In exchange for providing the mag these intimate quotes, she received, I swear, a cover story of a national weekly celebrity magazine. Yes, you will see this cover on newsstands across the country. I’m not kidding. Remember it’s July 4th weekend not April 1st. This sets the bar to a new low:
