I predict average sales for this one. It’s an emotional cover, especially the picture of Michelle, but as a reader I’m not learning anything new from this cover story on Heath. Readers want NEW details!
Can the insets make a difference? Not this week. Magazines like OK! and Star are featuring the big showdown between Angelina and Jen, while they only have an inset.
Moving on to Heidi’s “Video Shame ‘I Cried Myself to Sleep.’” As many of you know, Heidi’s new music video has been trashed across the Internet. But, the clever editor at US Weekly leads the reader to believe that this could be about a SEX tape. Shame on you US Weekly. I thought you prided yourself on being CREDIBLE with the reader!
Finally, US Weekly makes an incredible mistake with the Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera inset. If you have a body story, I WANT TO SEE PHOTOS OF THE SLIMMER BODIES.
