Cindy McCain is a Fast Driver?

Who knew?

Cindy McCain, wife of John McCain, loves to race and admits to having a “lead foot.”

Sliding out from behind the wheel of a Corvette pace car at Sunday’s NASCAR Pocono 500, Cindy McCain wouldn’t say how fast she was driving, reports People.

Does the Media Favor Barack Obama?

This cover of The Economist asks an important question:   ”But could he deliver?”

And is he ready to become President of the Free World?

It’s becoming pretty clear to me that the covers of major national magazines and the national television networks are NOT putting Barack under the same type of scrutiny that Hillary Clinton or John McCain are receiving.

Why is this?

I have a simple theory.

Living in a Celebrity Culture!

In 2008, we fully live in a celebrity driven culture.  We all know that Oprah and other major celebrities support Barack.  That could be what catapults him into the White House.

Why?  Many Americans follow what celebrities do — and yes — sometimes without thinking on their own.  I know, that is shocking!

There is a good chance that tomorrow will decide who will be the Democratic candidate for President.  I hope that those who are voting really think for themselves what is most important when casting their vote - not what Oprah thinks is most important.

What do you think?

Who Won Last Night’s Debate?

theweek.jpg

Hillary and Barack faced off last night!   No, they didn’t look like this very odd looking pic on the cover of The Week.  But I’m curious, who do you think won the debate and does Hillary still have a chance to make a comeback?

Why Mitt Romney Quit AND SAID WHAT HE SAID!

Time Magazine claimed recently that Mitt Romney “Looks Like a President” but that certainly wasn’t enough to make it to the finish line.   Romney drops out of the campaign and now we’re down to three frontrunners (1 Republican, 2 Democrats).   So why did he drop out?

In one of the most shocking statements made from a candidate leaving the race, Romney said, “Frankly, in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding the surrender to terror.”

Is he for real?   He’s suggesting that if the Republicans don’t win, the Democratic contenders will throw up the white flag to terrorists.   No matter who you support, this is a ridiculous statement and a classless way to exit the race.

U.S. News’ Campaign History Lesson!

usnewwr.jpg

With everyone talking about the election and the  State of the Union delivered last night, U.S. News & World Report delivers a timely issue — “Great Moments in Campaign History.”  I love the use of the iconic image, which reminds us of that famous 1948 election when Truman shocked Dewey (and publishers who thought the election would go the other way).    U.S. News & World Report has also put  some of the great moments in campaign history online.  Click here and get a sneak peek!
