The McCain campaign, which famously mocked Barack Obama for “being a celebrity,” has asked The View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck to be the celebrity to introduce Gov. Sarah Palin at rallies Sunday in Florida.

“I am more than honored to be there, so I will be flying there to travel with her and meet some pretty interesting people, I have a feeling,” Hasselbeck said. “That’s an honor, I’m excited to do it, and I’ll have some stories I’m sure on Monday.”

I think Elizabeth Hasselback is going to have a full-blown meltdown before the election.

Look at her as she tries to contain herself as Whoopi is speaking.

Hasselbeck has been offered an anchor spot at FOX news, according to reports.

“Elisabeth feels she can’t win at The View, but she’s been told by friends at FOX News that they’d find a spot for her without hesitation.”

“Elisabeth is just as tired of the ladies at The View as they are of her! She feels she constantly has to defend herself,” a show insider revealed to The National Enquirer this week.

As to the liberal media’s take on the issues, Elisabeth states: “I think we should be paying attention to the fact that there are those on the left that are afraid of dealing with the issues. Why? Why don’t they deal with the issues? Why don’t they put their names on their campaign banners? Why are their names not on there?”

Everyone has been talking about Sherri Shepherd’s controversial abortion comments as well as her comments about Barbara Walters. Today she discussed what she said with the ladies of The View.

But just because they got all heart-to-heart about it, does this mean everything is ok?

Today on the Wendy Williams TV show, Wendy suggested that Sherri is endanger of losing her job.

“You could replace her with a mannequin from the Macy’s window,” said Wendy.

What would Barbara say?

The View co-host opens up to Christian magazine Precious Times, that prior to discovering Christianity she “was in a very physically abusive relationship. I was sleeping with a lot of guys and had more abortions than I would like to count. I had very low self-esteem and just wanted to die. I felt if someone killed me, it wouldn’t even make a difference. But God showed me that it would make a difference.”

We’re happy her life got turned around and straightened out.

To lose her baby-weight, she stuck to about 2,000 calories a day and e-mailed her nutritionist, Sydney Foster, a log of what she was eating, according to the new issue of Fitness magazine.
