It’s official!
“Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles,” their spokesperson told People.
DeGeneres and de Rossi both wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane during the Saturday ceremony. The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres’s mom Betty and de Rossi’s mother Margaret Rogers.

I bet they would have gone for Ted Kennedy as the main cover if they closed later - but the Senator’s condition was not released until yesterday.
The main story featuring Bill & Hillary is entertaining. Globe uses the well-known Clinton fortune “$109 million” as its hook. They forgot to subtract the amount Hillary has used to loan to her campaign.
And there’s a nice, emotional story on Patrick Swayze renewing his wedding vows!
Bottom Line: Overall a strong cover from Globe.

Yesterday the California Supreme Court ruled in favor of allowing gay marriage and already two of the nations most high-profile lesbians have announced their engagement: Ellen and Portia.
Ellen broadcast the news during a taping of her TV show, which will air today. She says in a statement, “I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote. P.S. I’m registered at Crate & Barrel.”
The date, according to this registry is set for July 7.

Ellen DeGeneres sat down for an interview with Connie Wilson’s Modern Dog and answered a bunch of really tough softball questions!
The one that I was waiting for was, obviously, Ellen’s answer to that whole Iggy controversy. Here’s what she had to say:

It’s great to see Ellen DeGeneres as the main cover image of First Magazine. Ellen made a huge comeback with her daytime talkshow after coming out to the world and telling everyone she’s gay on her self-titled show.
With the new issue of First Magazine, you’ll find out Ellen’s “Happy” Secrets! (No, happy is not code word for gay, silly.) I’m sure we’ll find out some great tips though since Ellen does seem pretty happy most of the time.
On a side note, I once walked Ellen down the red carpet when I was in PR working for MTV and she was awesome. She had been through so much but represents how important it is to believe in yourself and never let any one hold you back! Another reason why she’s a great choice for this cover of First Magazine.
The main cover line of this issue of First is “Your Metabolism Unleashed.” It appears directly over Ellen, which throws this cover off a bit. It’s clear that Ellen is not someone battling weight issues so the line doesn’t work with the main image. This confusing layout will hurt First on the newsstands.
