THIS IS WHY WE SHOULD WORK FROM HOME (IF WE CAN!)

The Week asks “Will $4-a-gallon gas change our ways?”

For corporate executives, this price of gas reaching this incredibly high price is merely an annoyance.

For their employees, it’s a big piece of their paycheck.

It’s time for corporate America to do everything they can to help out their employees.

Here are some of my suggestions:

  • It’s time to let anyone that can work from home start do so. This applies especially to those in publishing. With technology, it’s easier than ever for writers and editors to work from home.
  • For those that can’t and MUST be in the office, employers should begin to pro-actively help arrange carpools among employees in their company.
  • I’d even suggest experimenting with four-day work weeks. I’m sure many employees would work a few extra hours during the week to make this a reality!

What do you think? How can corporate America help employees out as gas prices continue to soar?
