DID YOU HEAR? George and Laura Bush SPLIT!

Do you care?

That’s the big question Globe faces this week.

While we’ve seen that Globe consistently features stories for the senior citizen set, I’m not so sure this one  will fly off newsstands this week.

President Bush’s approval ratings are at an all-time low and I’m not sure many would want to be seen with a cover of George Bush in their shopping cart.  (I admit I’m bias on this one and can’t stand Bush.  There, I said it.)

Continuing to appeal to senior citizens, and possibly introduce Elvis to new fans, is a promising photo spread of the King when he was only 21.

This cover story is what makes People magazine stand out from the rest of the category.

In a week where there is not a ton of celebrity news that could hold a full cover, People comfortably moves into the real life category.

RIP: Golden Girl Estelle Getty Dies at 84

Very sad news.

Surrounded by her family and caregivers, actress Estelle Getty — known for her role as the wise-cracking Sophia Petrillo on the Golden Girls — died Tuesday morning at her Los Angeles home.

She was 84 and was to turn 85 on Friday, reports Us Weekly.
