Their concern was fueled by an 8.6 percent drop in newsstand sales to 700,123 as part of a total drop in circulation of 2.1 percent to 1,723,840 in the second half of 2007, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
Ad sales in the first quarter of this year were down 8.6 percent to 612.4 pages.
