ANDREA MITCHELL: BARACK OBAMA’S GIVING FAKE INTERVIEWS

Appearing on Hardball with Chris Matthews, Andrea stated that Obama, “didn’t have reporters with him. He didn’t have a press pool. He didn’t do a press conference while he was on the ground either on Afghanistan or Iraq.

What you’re seeing is not reporters brought in, you’re seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questioned by the military and what some would call fake interviews because they’re not interviews with a journalist so there’s a real press issue here.”

KEITH OLBERMANN VS. BILL O’REILLY: IT’S ONLY GETTING WORSE

Keith Olbermann scores a major feature story in this week’s New Yorker.

Among the many highlights is his entertaining battle with Fox’s Bill O’Reilly of The O’Reilly Factor.

From Olbermann’s desk at MSNBC, he can see Fox News’ headquarters - where he used to work.

“Sometimes I imagine that I hear a howl coming from there,” Olbermann told the New Yorker.

“I have been accused of having an obsession with him. I am a minor-leaguer compared to his obsession with me.”

The feud has attracted so many viewers to Olbermann’s Countdown show that he admits, “I really do owe him [O'Reilly] a percentage of my salary.”

Boom!  What Boom!

Portfolio is not connecting with their readers in an instant.   And, that’s the problem with the headline.  I’m thinking that they’re talking about a boom in the U.S., which clearly isn’t happening!

Move to the dek and you get that they’re talking about Iraq but I’ve already walked by this issue on the newsstand!

Better luck next issue.
