Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have parted ways after seven years together.

While nobody knows why the couple split for sure, some are speculating it traces back to when the two worked together on her last two CD’s.

“You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure,” a friend said. “Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things sepa­rate.”
