What Bush Got Right? Newsweek Dug Deep and Found the Answer

While President Bush continues to be the least popular President in United States’ history, Newsweek presents its special summer double issue titled “What Bush Got Right.”

(Hmm.  This won’t be a big seller.)

According to the magazine, the administration “has deftly managed a critical relationship with China, and deepened one with India.”

While this is one of Bush’s few successes in office, the magazine points out why this administration has been such a catastrophic failure.

The wife of the editor [Jon Meacham] stopped by, apparently saw the cover and expressed her disapproval. Amazingly, the previously approved cover, worked on all week, was killed. I guess we know who has the final say…

When Barry Became Barack; Newsweek Explains

When did Barry become Barack ?  According to the cover story in this week’s Newsweek, it was in 1980-81 during a period he was a student at Occidental College and he was heading to New York where he would finish college at Columbia.  

“It was when I made a conscious decision: I want to grow up,” Obama told Newsweek.

According to a new study reported by Folio, the “jury is still out.”

While both Time and Newsweek made major chances in 2007, it’s too early to tell, according to the 700 page 2008 State of American News Media report, conducted by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.
