Everyone’s favorite controversial self-promoter and Gawker star subject pulled a major coup with this cover of Wired magazine and CoverAwards’ readers wanted to see what she said inside the magazine.
This should sell well in NYC, but questionable in the rest of the country?
Thoughts?

Everyone’s favorite controversial self-promoter and Gawker star subject has pulled a major coup with this cover of Wired magazine.
While the cover line isn’t flattering (even if you’re nobody), the inside piece focuses on how Julia Allison is launching her own web portal nonsociety.com - and began developing content: lip-sync videos and a talk-show series modeled after The View.
The magazine also reveals Allison trick to self-promotion, which is to think of herself as the subject of a magazine profile, with every blog post or twitter update adding dimension to her character.
Her three tricks to becoming Internet famous:
The NY Post is reporting that “talking head Julia Allison lost her editor-at-large gig at Star Magazine, where she was making an estimated 125K per year.”
She has once said, “I’m Carrie Bradshaw 2.0,” referring to the Sex and the City character. (Julia, I’ve met watched Carrie Bradshaw, and you are no Carrie Bradshaw.)
Allison, who was hired by the recently departed Bonnie Fuller, never did any writing for the mag, reports the Post. She simply appeared on TV.
No Worries! Julia Allison Will Help You Out!
Unfortunately, this issue is off newsstands, but you can get Julia’s perfectly-timed column right now by clicking here to find a place to have the perfect Valentine’s date.
Don’t tell me you waited to the last minute. Oh, no you didn’t!
Time Out New York proves it’s not a good idea to put your telephone number on a napkin! A bunch of crazies are actually calling the number. Check out a brief auditory glimpse on Gawker (Yes, there’s even Gangsta Rap)! I hope the CD will soon be available on Julia’s MySpace page.
