NATIONAL ENQUIRER BREAKS BIG BILL CLINTON STORY
Earlier today, I stated that the Enquirer was reporting that Bill Clinton’s mistress was Gina Gershon.
I pulled a wrongo on one front. (Yes, I can admit that.)
“It’s not Gina Gershon who is Bill Clinton’s mistress,” according to David Perel, Editor in Chief, National Enquirer.
Perel adds, “The mistress is 48-year-old Julie Tauber McMahon, the daughter of Michigan millionaire Joel Tauber, a top Democratic contributor during Clinton’s presidency and a personal friend of the Clinton family.”
Why did I say wrongo on “one front?” (Because I have a super large ego - no silly).
When I’m critiquing a cover, I look at it from the newsstand buyers’ perspective. I try not to provide the inside details since many buyers compulsively buy the magazine simply by looking at the cover.
In the case of this week’s National Enquirer cover, I still believe that readers will think that the mistress is Gina Gershon.
But, if the National Enquirer PR team does a good job in getting the story out, then we should hear a lot more about this in the media and the National Enquirer will have a good week. I think Fox is waiting for your call.
Congrats to the Enquirer on breaking this big story.
