CBS Evening News set another record low last week. The broadcast averaged 5.33 million total viewers and 1.54M in A25-54.
The week of April 21, the previous low, the broadcast drew 5.34M Total Viewers and 1.58M in the demo, reports TV Newser.
This news comes on the heels of Katie’s dramatic announcement to support cancer research.
Katie Couric, Brian Williams and Charles Gibson just appeared on the Today Show to announce the Stand Up To Cancer efforts.

I just watched Katie make her first return to the Today Show in two years with Charlie Gibson and Brian Williams for the big Stand Up 2 Cancer Announcement.
I have to say that Katie belongs back on morning TV.
And it’s clear Matt has much better chemistry with Katie than he has with Meredith (nothing against Meredith.) It’s just obvious.

I bet a lot of Today Show fans would like her to come back permanently.

Fox News Channel should be completely embarrassed.
Today, ABC, NBC and CBS put aside corporate rivalries to fight the battle against cancer.
Sure, Fox doesn’t have a national news show but it could have participated in this campaign.
According to a spokesperson for Stand Up 2 Cancer, Fox was “asked but declined to participate.”
I tried to call Fox News Channel but the PR department did not pick up its phone??? Go figure.

I’m placing my bet that Katie Couric will be hosting a talk show on NBC during the day.
Here’s why:
The media world is in a frenzy over Katie Couric’s big announcement tomorrow morning on the Today Show.
According to the Huffington Post, several sources, including TVNewser, report a source claiming that the announcement will relate to a telethon hosted by ABC, CBS and NBC with proceeds going to cancer research, reports the Huffington Post.
But, this theory doesn’t make sense. Why would CBS allow Katie to make this announcement on Today?
