OK! Magazine: Reese Witherspoon Back on Top

Buy OK! Here!

My immediate reactions:

Not the best picture of Reese Witherspoon.  (Is she starting to look like Madonna or is that just me?)

What a strange headline?!? (Back on Top)

It appears like this is a trade cover at first glance vs a celebrity weekly.  The dek saves it a little but I’m not sure if the main line will grab the average newsstand buyer.

Many readers do like Reese but not so sure how much they care about her relationship with Jake.

Trouble at Alpha Media.

Quadrangle Partners is in talks with lenders over restructuring Alpha Media Group, home of Maxim and Blender.

Not good.

Where in the World is OK Magazine This Week?

Brownridge Decision Could Lead to Disaster!

Looking for OK! Magazine on the newsstand this week?

Well, OK! Magazine took the week off in what looks like a cost cutting measure.

Newly hired Kent Brownridge said last week’s issue (featuring Michelle Obama’s Private World) of OK! has been converted into a double issue because he didn’t want to move the shipment date up due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Big Mistake by Lord Brownridge?

Does Richard Desmond Have a Reason to be Concerned About OK! Magazine?

You betcha.

Perhaps, that’s why he made the trek to NYC earlier this week, as reported by today’s NY Post.

With the economy continuing to suffer and OK’s sales not meeting expectations, Desmond’s patience must be running out.

Desmond originally vowed to spend at least $100 million on the US title before it turned a profit, and by most accounts, the three-year-old magazine has lost that amount since its inception, according to the report.

Katie’s NOT PREGNANT.  This, again, is a story about Katie possibly getting pregnant.

Not to drag Star Magazine down in the dumps with OK, but Star used a very similar approach this week with its Jen Aniston cover.

What’s the difference here?
