Barack Obama’s campaign raised a record breaking $10 million last night at a series of events last night in Hollywood and Los Angeles.

The events cost $2,500 each per-person and included a steak dinner.  Barbara Streisand and Ben Harper perfomred and audience members included Quincy Jones, Pierce Brosnan and Jamie Foxx. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Tobey Maguire, Will Ferrell, Chris Rock, Larry David, Jamie Lee Curtis and Steven Spielberg were also in attendance.

How sad.  Leonardo DiCaprio’s grandmother Helene Indenbirken has died at the age of 93.

Indenbirken passed away in a hospital in her native North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Indenbirken’s local paper, the Recklinghauser Zeitung, reports.

A cause of death has not yet been reported.

Rufus Wainwright wants to raise awareness for saving the planet.

“On a Saturday around the summer solstice, June 21st, for a 12-hour period (noon to midnight), where ever you are, let’s all turn off the power at the same time.” 

“Then at the end, the plan goes, we will make a list of things that we may or may not do in the coming year for the planet.”
