Bristol Palin & Hot Boyfriend Welcome a Son…

And, I hope this is the last time I’ll be writing about the Palin family.

But, here are the details.

Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, gave birth on Saturday to a healthy 7 lb., 7 oz., baby boy in Palmer, Alaska.

The baby’s name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

You might recall that this pregnancy caused quite a stir during the campaign.  Check out the top right headline on this cover of Us Weekly.

Not surprisingly, Bill McAllister, a spokesman for Gov. Palin said, “This office will not be issuing any statements on [Bristol's baby]. We’re here to talk about state government and that matter falls outside of that.”

Suddenly, Mrs. Palin doesn’t want to speak about her daughter.  How convenient!

P.S.  For those of you that are Palin fans and can’t get enough of her, click here for more info on her hot 2009 calendar!

UPDATE: According to the Scoop, the photos of the baby could have gone for $300,000 and apparently have been sold to People.  So, sadly, this is not the last we’ll hear of the Palin clan.  Who was I kidding anyway?

John McCain’s campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running this story about McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie,” said McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.   “The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.”

“Legal action will be considered with regard to this disgraceful smear,” said Schmidt.  For the complete statement, click here.

How Hot is Levi Johnston?

New York Magazine asks a very important question.

You were probably thinking the same thing when you first saw the picture of Levi Johnston.

“HOW HOT IS THE BABY DADDY?”

“Eighteen-year-old Levi Johnston is a hockey star and high-school classmate of Bristol Palin. They’d been dating a while, and now with the whole pregnancy thing are planning on getting married. Look at that face. John McCain is definitely winning the cougar vote now, on top of the Jamie-Lynn Spears vote,” says NY Mag.

How does Levi describe himself on his now defunct MySpace page?

OP-ED: John McCain is Using Sarah Palin to WIN the Race

Is it possible that John McCain is using Sarah Palin AND her family to win this year’s election.

Following Barack Obama’s dramatic convention, John McCain comes out with a VP pick that shocked his party and the nation.

And, the biggest shock came yesterday as we learned that Sarah’s 17-year-old daughter Bristol is five months pregnant.

What’s becoming clearer by the day is that John McCain is simply using Palin to energize the conservative base - the one that wants to eliminate a women’s right to choose.

With his first MAJOR decision, women and men need to take a serious look at where McCain will take this country - and more importantly the Supreme Court.

If McCain picked Palin - a staunch pro-lifer, guess what will happen to the Supreme Court?

On another note, many are comparing Palin’s experience to Barack Obama’s experience.
