She did it.

In the much-anticipated face-off at the box office between Jennifer Aniston’s Marley & Me and Brad Pitt’s Benjamin Button, Marley & Me stayed strong after its record Christmas Day opening, taking in an estimated $37 million from Friday-Sunday, Exhibitor Relations said today. 

Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button grossed $27.2 million during the same three days.   Not bad, but not good enough!

A clear victory for Jen.  Congrats!

And now maybe Jen can move on with her life and not be connected to Brad in every single story that is written about her?

Fat chance.

At the box office that is.

The latest estimates for Thursday box office nationally are: No. 1 Jennifer Aniston’s Marley And Me raking in $14.6M in 3,480 theaters with Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button $11.8M from 2,988 venues, according to reports.

It looks like all that publicity paid off for Jen, especially that photoshopped GQ cover.

Jen must be feeling pretty good right now because that is a great opening for Christmas Day - plus of course that whole Brad thing!

In a movie, sadly.

The former Friends star plays a new mother in her upcoming romantic comedy Marley & Me, which also stars Owen Wilson.

Oh well.  Hopefully Jen’s renewed relationship with John Mayer will lead her to fulfilling her baby dream!
