TIM RUSSERT’S WIFE: ‘WE’RE DOING GREAT’

In an interview on Today, Maureen Orth, widow of Tim Russert, said “we’re doing great,” crediting both NBC and devoted fans of Tim for all of their kind words and support.

It is unfortunate that the Russert family lost such a huge part of themselves, but at the same time it is encouraging to know that there are so many genuinely good people out there who do care and are willing to support others in their time of need.

When Tim Russert’s wife Maureen Orth said goodbye to Tim on their trip to Italy she told him, “I said to him ‘I want to give you a hug: maybe I’ll never see you again…I don’t know why I said that to him. I just had a feeling.”

On why people were drawn to Tim Russert, Maureen tells People it was “because he was so comfortable in his own skin. I’d always say to him, ‘Why don’t you buy a really nice suit?’ and he’d say, ‘That’s not me.’
