Madonna opened up the MTV VMA’s with a tribute to Michael Jackson. Apparently, the two had a lot in common. Both Madonna and Michael were born in 1958 in August in the midwest.

“Michael Jackson was a hero,” she said. “He seemed otherwordly.”

Madonna asked Michael Jackson out to dinner in 1991. They held hands during a movie, but it was a friendship — not a romance.

She was floored when she found out about his death in London this past June.

“We allowed this magnificent creature slip threw the cracks — there will never be anyone like him again. He was a king. Long live the king.”

Michael Jackson was supposed to be bured on his birthday — August 29th, but TMZ.com is now reporting that date has been pushed back.

Michael Jackson will be buried on August 31st instead, says Papa Jackson.

Michael Jackson’s burial date is set for what would have been his 51st birthday.

The King of Pop will be laid to rest at Holly Terrace in the Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, August 29 at 10 AM.

Just when you thought the Michael Jackson tribute covers were all churned out, The Source turns around and releases a special collector’s August issue.

The issue includes Michael Jackson commentary from Berry Gordy, Diddy, Wyclef Jean, Mary J. Blige and Diana Ross and others.

Eery buttered toast that looks a lot like Michael Jackson (in his somewhat normal nose era) has surfaced on the web.

While this image just screams of Photoshop, the spooked out Dallas man who innocently ordered the toast swears this is how it was served to him.

The News Of The World has unearthed photos taken of Michael Jackson’s deathbed one day after he passed.

While a picture may be worth 1, 000 words, this will most certainly be worth 1, 000 clues into what happened immediately before and after Michael Jackson died on June 25th.

According to the publication’s website, the picture reveals a scene full of medical equipment, alcohol preparation pads used for cleaning the skin before drug injections, a roll of surgical tape and a box of disposable latex gloves.

The News of the World assures us that every detail has been “pored over by specialist investigators.”

Katherine Jackson was granted permanent custody of Michael’s three children, Paris, Prince and Blanket, in a Los Angeles court today.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled that Katherine will receive monthly stipends and Debbie Rowe, biological mother of Paris and Prince, will get some visitation rights.
Objections made by an attorney representing Dr. Arnold Klein (Michael’s dermatologist and rumored father of the children) were swiftly swatted away by Beckloff who doesn’t think Klein has a legal standing to object to the care of Jackson’s children.

Michael Jackson’s autopsy has been delayed “indefinitely” says L.A. coroner assistant chief Ed Winter. He says they have “no idea” when the documents will be released.

Investigators are still hard at work trying to prove manslaughter charges and a medical infraction of “prescribing to an addict.”

In a wince-inducing interview, Joe Jackson nods yes when asked if Omer Bhatti is Michael Jackson’s love child. As we reported, it’s rumored Michael fathered Omer after a one-nighter in 1984 with a Norwegian fan.

Of course, Joe can’t sway too far from his singing/dancing stage father roots. Omer “dances like a Jackson” he says with a grin.
