Mischa Barton: ‘I Went Through A Tough Spot’
Mischa Barton finally opened up about the mystery illness that had her plucked from her Hollywood home and plopped in a mental institute last month.
Well, well. That didn’t take long now did it?
In an interview with Time Out New York (via OK!), Mischa shrugs it all off as a “tough spot” and blames it partially on a tooth surgery gone wrong (?).
“It was a nightmare. I’ve never had surgery before — it all went wrong and I had to have a second surgery and it almost delayed shooting because it was a nightmare to me, because I couldn’t deal with the thought of not getting there on time,” she says in the interview. “So with the travel, and surgery and prep for the show — it was hell.”
Mischa kept it vague.
“I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed-out just to feel better again,” she says. “I got completely stressed-out and couldn’t handle everything, and now I feel really in control.”

Mischa Barton Still In Psychiatric Hold?
Sadly, Mischa Barton is still recuperating from a breakdown last week that landed her in a Los Angeles psychiatric ward.
Regardless, Barton is slated to start filming her new T.V. series, Beautiful Life, at the end of the month. Her rep insists she’s “making improvements.”
Mischa Barton Coke Binge: Preposterous?
Several news sources claim Mischa Barton suffered a cocaine overdose after a three-day bender. Her rep, however, says this is ridiculous and “completely preposterous.”
Regardless, Barton still remains under hospital care in a Los Angles psychiatric ward.
Mischa Barton’s Breakdown
Mischa Barton has been placed in psychiatric hold after suffering a breakdown at her Los Angeles home.
Barton was rushed from her home yesterday at 3 p.m. with a “health problem” and is now at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
No details have emerged about the incident other than a generic statement from her rep saying Barton was hospitalized “per the “recommendation of her doctor” and is “resting in the hospital.”
