Where in the World is Barack Obama? Paris!
Ooh La La!
What could be more exciting that speaking in front of 200,000 screaming Germans?

This issue of The Week is the latest in the string of Barack Obama Magazine covers to hit the newsstand.
And, that’s not surprising. Especially after seeing the 250,000 (the number keeps going up!) person crowd in Berlin yesterday or learning that bombshell Pam Anderson threw her boobs support behind Barack Obama.
Last week’s controversial cover of the New Yorker was a virtual sell-out on newsstands with early estimates at 75,000 up from the weekly average of 43,000, reports the NY Post. (Most copies are sold via subscription.)
For Us Weekly, the cover featuring Obama and his wife Michelle sold between 900,000 and 1 million, above the magazine’s 800,000 weekly newsstand average.
Obama is also on the cover of the recent double issue of Rolling Stone, which could sell as many as 250,000, also above the magazine’s newsstand average for double issues.
Said a spokeswoman for Time, “Of our five covers featuring Obama and/or Hillary Clinton. . . this year, they either sold significantly above average or above average. On the other hand, the John McCain cover this year sold just below average, reports the NY Post.

In front of almost 200,000 people, Barack Obama gave a speech in Berlin, urging Americans and Europeans to come together to defeat terrorism and extremism.
Here’s how the major media outlets in the U.S. and around the world are covering today’s historic event in Berlin.

Barack is having a BIG day. First, the speech in Berlin.
And now this!
The Huffington Post reports that the busty Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is endorsing Barack Obama.
“I love him. I think he’s going to win. I like that he’s opening up conversations all over the world.”
Republican John McCain said he would like to give a speech in Germany as U.S. president not as a White House candidate, taking another swipe at rival Barack Obama while the Democrat gave a major address in Berlin.
“I’d love to give a speech in Germany … a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in, but I’d much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate … for the office of presidency,” McCain told reporters in Ohio.
Oh Really?
My question is how many people would show up to see John McCain speak. Today, local officials estimated that nearly 200,000 people showed up to hear Barack Obama speak. I don’t believe McCain would draw anything close to that number - and that’s why he’s not making a speech in Germany. Not because he would prefer to wait until he was president.
On another note…
MTV ran its first political ad in its 27-year history yesterday. The “Both Ways Barack,” attack ad is from conservative group Let Freedom Ring.

According to a new poll from NBC and the Wall Street Journal, when asked who would improve America’s standing in the world, 44 percent said Barack Obama while only 33 percent said John McCain.
However, 55 percent believe that Barack Obama is the riskier pick for president while 33 percent said John McCain.
Surprised?
Barack Obama is looking God like today in Berlin.
More than 100,000 people are expected to see him speak today in Berlin.
And it’s not surprising that John McCain is making ridiculous attacks against Obama.
Yesterday, in the International Herald Tribune, McCain said that called him a “craven and naive traveler to the Middle East” and said that “Barack Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign.”
Barack Obama spoke to NBC’s Brian Williams and said, “Yeah, I was disappointed by that language. John McCain and I disagree on policy.
We disagreed on going into the war on Iraq. We disagreed until recently about the need to get more troops in Afghanistan.
But I never questioned that he wants to make America safer. And for him to suggest that I don’t. For him to suggest that somehow that I’m less concerned about the safety of my wife and daughter than he is was unfortunate.”
Were John McCain’s remarks out of line? What are your thoughts?
