Barack Obama Discusses The Financial Crisis

Barack Obama commented on the upheaval on Wall Street today saying it is ”the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression.”  He also links it to Bush.

“This country can’t afford another four years of this failed philosophy,” Obama said after the shock-wave announcements that financial giant Lehman Brothers was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy while titan Merrill Lynch was being bought by Bank of America for about $50 billion.

Sarah Palin Brings Back Bridge to Nowhere Line and Ebay Lies in Stump Speech!

To prove her maverick past she repeated an anecdote wildly told on the trail, but eliminated in Alaska — that she got rid of the Alaska Governor’s private jet and put it on EBay.

She does not add that the plane did not sell on EBay and it had to be taken off the website and then sold through a broker.

Sarah Palin Continues To Lie About ‘Bridge to Nowhere”

Today in Ohio, Sarah Palin repeated her “bridge to nowhere,” line which originated in her speech to the Republican National Convention last Wednesday. It has since been debunked several times and it has been proven false that she told Congress “thanks but no thanks” for the project that has become a symbol of wasteful government spending.

Palin did abandon her onetime support for the bridge after winning Alaska’s governorship, but only after federal dollars dried up. Moreover, she kept the federal funds already given to Alaska, reports the Huffington Post.
