First you see David Beckam and Posh - with David clearly looking away. Sign of trouble? You bet!
Plus, they have Tom and Katie with Katie saying “Help me.”
You can always leave it to a body language expert to find trouble!
PHOTO TIP: Star UK Shows a Lonely Posh Spice
Welcome to a new segment on CoverAwards! It’s called Photo Tip. When I spot a good cover photo/technique, I’ll point in out to you all! Isn’t that special.
Anyhow, here’s your first photo tip of the day.
Notice that Star picked a photo of Posh touching her hair. This type of photo stands out on the newsstand and adds a little bit of emotion to the cover.
This is a much better choice than simply using a headshot. However, the picture would have been perfect if we had eye contact!
The End of UK’s First!
Say farewell to the UK’s First Magazine. On February 8th, it was announced that this title is done.
According to the UK Guardian, First magazine lunched in May 2006. However, the news-orientated weekly for women in their 30s and older had a sluggish start and failed to hit its circulation target of 150,000. The title was said to be selling about 100,000 copies.”
No surprise when you take a look at this cover. The lines are beyond BAD.
“Deluded - Victoria thinks she’s fat.” So what, who cares??? Plus the photo of Posh doesn’t work. They should show her looking skinny if they wanted to use this awful line.
“Why do celebrities keep having twins?” What a strange question.
I could keep going, but I’ll stop.

If you are seen buying this issue of UK’s Now, you should be completely embarrassed. The main story is about Posh’s skin, but it looks PERFECT on the cover.

Jen and Angelina’s Secret Lunch Date! Are you kidding me? Unless they have photo evidence, I totally do not believe this story. The word “SECRET” convinces me that LOOK doesn’t have it!
Poor Pam Anderson - did she REALLY say “I’ll be Dead in 5 Years.” Even if she did, as an editor I wouldn’t put such a depressing projection on the cover.
Marriage advice from Posh - I’d pass!
And, I know women love shoes, but 114 is an overwhelming number of shoes - even for a woman like SB who has total shoe OCD.
Posh Taking Over the World!
Ok, maybe not the world. But, she is definitely appearing on more and more covers in the United States. And this is a good one for her. While the UK tabloids continue to focus on her personal life, she’s positioned in the U.S. as a style icon - especially appearing on the cover of WWD Scoop! I’d prefer to see her without sunglasses and smiling - but it’s fashion so I guess she’s got to look SERIOUS!
