Barack Obama Raises $10 Million In One Star-Studded Night

Barack Obama’s campaign raised a record breaking $10 million last night at a series of events last night in Hollywood and Los Angeles.

The events cost $2,500 each per-person and included a steak dinner.  Barbara Streisand and Ben Harper perfomred and audience members included Quincy Jones, Pierce Brosnan and Jamie Foxx. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Tobey Maguire, Will Ferrell, Chris Rock, Larry David, Jamie Lee Curtis and Steven Spielberg were also in attendance.

Celebrities Support Obama During DNC Speech

A ton of celebrities attaneded the DNC last night.  Oprah stated, “I cried my eyelashes off. I think it’s the most powerful thing I have ever experienced.” 

Some other stars in attendance included: Anne Hathaway, Susan Sarandon, George Lucas, Forest Whitaker, Star Jones, Daniel Dae Kim of “Lost,” Rosario Dawson, Wilmer Valderrama and Kerry Washington.

Talk about surprising phone calls.

As Marion Ravenwood in 1981s Raiders of the Lost Arc, Karen Allen made a huge impact in the first installment of the mega-franchise.

Fast-forward to a call from Stephen Spielberg.

“Steven said, I guess you know why I’m calling,” Allen says. “And what’s funny is that his wife, Kate Capshaw, had just bought a lot of my knitwear for Christmas presents…

I thought he was going to tell me he loved the presents!

Instead Spielberg said, “Haven’t you been watching television? We’re doing another film, and you’re in it.”

And it’s not a cameo.

“It was big, beautiful part! I was jumping up and down.”
