THOMAS ROBERTS RESPONDS TO MANHUNT PHOTO CONTROVERSY

On Roberts’ fourth day at his new gig as reporter for The Insider, someone posted photos of him on Manhunt.

That was followed with a ton of scandalous press including a Page Six item “New Sex Mess Jolts Insider.”

Roberts response, “I never put inappropriate pictures of myself on a public web site,” he tells The Advocate.

And The Insider calls the incident, “a malicious personal attack.”

THE GOOD NEWS FOR THOMAS ROBERTS ON COMING OUT…

“I was 26-you can only lie to yourself so long, [about being gay] Roberts tells The Advocate.

During his gig at WAVY, he met his partner Patrick and decided to tell his colleagues before heading to CNN.

“I had already come out to my family by that point, so the next logical step was work…and everyone was so cool.”

“I never lost a friend.”

HOW THOMAS ROBERTS HID BEING GAY

“I would automatically date a girl and have everyone at the station see it,” Roberts tells The Advocate.

“We’d date for a little while and then I’d break up with them or do something to make them break up with me.”

Later, when his friends would offer to set him up with another girl, Roberts would say he was “too hurt.”

“That would get me out of the whole meet-my-sister thing.”
