Richard Stengel, Time’s Managing Editor, appeared on my favorite morning news show MORNING JOE on MSNBC, and said something like he simply couldn’t decide who to put on the cover of this special Olympic preview issue of Time Magazine.

Both stories were equally compelling. Dana Torres, the 41-year old swimmer and can LeBron James lead the men’s Olympic basketball team back to glory? (BTW-Time’s cover of Lebron James is not controversial at all compared to his appearance on Vogue with Giselle.)

It’s been a long battle? Has Barack successfully won the “soul” of the Democrats?

Poor babies!

Top Newssweek staffers are “said to be envious of their rivals at Time over the annual Time 100 celeb-fest, which draws the world’s biggest names for an evening of black-tie admiration,” according to Page Six.

Last week’s Time event drew Robert Downey Jr, John McCain, Mariah Carey and others.

“It’s not fair,” complained one mag vet to  Page Six.  “Time butters up all these bigwigs and then gets access.”

When Barack Obama won North Carolina, he said, “The question , then, is not what kind of campaign they will run; it’s what kind of campaign we will run. 

It’s what we will do to make this year different.  You see, I didn’t get into this race thinking that I could avoid this kind of politics, but I am running for President because this is the time to end it.”

Well this is one fight I’d pay to see and it’s free.

To stay in the campaign, Hillary Clinton needs a bigger win in tomorrow’s Pennsylvania primary over Barack Obama than she has had in any major contest so far.

Clinton needs “blowout numbers,” says Peter Fenn, a Democratic consultant who isn’t affiliated with either campaign. “The wheels would have to come off the Obama bus, and the engine would have to blow.”

Can she do it?

Time Magazine Gives Hillary Some Relief on the Newsstand!

This week’s issue of Time Magazine finally gives Hillary a strong cover.   She looks elated and human.    Other covers haven’t been so kind with their cover images of Hillary.  If you’re Hillary, you couldn’t ask for a better line than “The Fighter.” 

Time is also smart for staying on this story.   If I was the editor-in-chief (one could dream or I’d say having a nightmare) of any of the newsweeklies or the business magazines, I would cover this election every week until it’s decided.
