VIBE , partnership with MySpace, will host a special event on Monday, November 24th at the The Knitting Factory in New York City to celebrate Plies’ first-ever VIBE cover for the magazine’s December 2008 issue. In this month’s cover story, VIBE takes an in-depth look at the life and career of the artist the magazine declares “the future of rap.”
When Vibe noted that it took a long time for the hip hop community to decide between Obama and Hillary, here’s what Jay-Z had to say on why he supports Barack:
“What Obama represents is, we as a people are a part of the American Dream. It’s not like, Yo, the black man is hot. I hate when people get on TV and say that. It’s almost like we’re bragging. No!
And that’s why Jay-Z and Beyonce won’t talk about their wedding or marriage, reports Us.
“I just think it’s really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself,” he tells Vibe.
“You have to have something sacred to you and the people around you,” the 38-year-old adds. “I shared so much of my life… I should have something to hold on to.”
